Area General Process Taking into account the school´s main goal to transform the society, the area of foreign language proposes an integral formation in order to give students, who have certain needs of communication and interaction, the chance to learn in a socio-cultural environment in which English plays a key role. Within this framework, the English teacher´s department target is to train the human being, in the maturity of its processes to facilitate their knowledge building and the transformation of their socio-cultural reality, which allows students to move up in the world, ultimately succeed fully in life.

In this way, teachers will encourage the development of skills and basic communication skills to ensure the construction of this knowledge, making part of this process science, humanities and technology. Without ignoring the multidisciplinary that requires the successful of this process with other areas, which give meaning to the educational system as a whole.

The Values The values to be strengthen within the area of foreign language are closely related to the values of the institution: Piety, simplicity and work, as they seek the constant growth of the students and their comprehensive education as good beings with a real sense of service and respect for. The corporate values are:

PIETY

Directs every individual toward transcendence and truth and helps to keep their lives open to dialogue with the realities of the world and men. It also keeps them open to the world’s needs, with a clear conscience of their being and a commitment to justice and solidarity.

SIMPLICITY

A person’s identity is defined by its authenticity, transparency and the maturity of a life that is integral, loyal and honest. It lets them establish positive relations with others without excluding anyone, giving and receiving affection as well as respect. It also means having a healthy self-esteem and recognizes the gifts of others, expressing yourself with courtesy and good manners.

WORK

An individual characterized by the value of work, participates with it and through it in God's creative work developing and perfecting their full potential and talents rejecting mediocrity and routine. Their work contributes to the transformation of their environment, to scientific and technological progress as well as human advancement "Teach them to work to earn a decent living."(Marie Poussepin).

Other values strengthened from the area of foreign language are: recognition of their own identity, respect for their culture and that of others, and autonomy. Activities done in the area seek to bring students into new cultural contexts through situations that require their responsibility, autonomy, tolerance and respect for others and for their work.
